ok, i've been toying with the idea of possibly getting the rsm supercharger kit for my 3.1L if i get a good bonus this year. but in terms of upgrading the tranny for the power, what tranny should i be looking at getting??? my tranny is currently the auto of course with the 3.1 and i want to stick with another auto on the upgrade.
so, just looking for some advice as to what to look for to see what that upgrade would cost....
thanks,
patrick

Will you need to upgrade your tranny? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have too many issues with it. Aren't they able to handle like 250+lb/s of torque? I would just go with the S/C and worry about the tranny if it were to give you trouble...
The real question is whether the motor can handle the extra pressure...which it should if in good condition.

i wasn't sure about the tranny, but i just read a couple of posts that said that the tranny should be fine...i really don't beat on the motor/tranny so maybe i wouldn't have to worry....
engine is in pretty good shape....LIM just replaced...exhaust is done....so it should be ok....
but this is all dependent upon what kind of bonus i get....

Yeah the tranny should be fine and so should the motor. I would just get a tranny temp gauge and keep an eye on it just to be safe. :)
Will you be doing it up here at the Canadian RSM if you do get it done?

Your 4t60e is rated at a max of 280 lbs ft of torque. However some people have blown their differentials before that mark after being boosted. There is a hardened limited slip available from Engineered Performance for GM tranny's to fix that potential problem.

positraction is always better than TC.
