1996 grand am se.. anyone?

Does anyone else on the boards have a 96-98 grand am se? im just curious as to what other people have done to theirs... i see alot of 01 SEs.

:welcome: There are plenty of 96-98 gen Grand Ams on here. You just have to dig around a little. :)

For the 3100 you are some what limited for options, but there are a few for performance. Pulley, Cold Air Intake, Port and Polish intake, bigger throttlebody, supercharger, exhaust, and soon there will be headers made for the 3100.

rsmracing.com has most of the stuff you would be looking for. I would search around though because there is a lot more at different places also.

my car actully has about 141K for milage on it... when my motor goes.. or whenever i decide to drop about 400 dollars im gonna get a 3400.

My boyfriend bought one of RSM Racing's WAI a couple years ago....it was actually pretty decent, and at the time was the only option around. He actually dynoed it.....

Thats a new Fram filter against a slightly used K&N drop-in against RSM's. 4.5 whp sin't to bad, eh? He also had FFP's UDP and a 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust at the time.

He now has a CAI from Tranzgenic and a 3400 from a 2001 minivan.

Well it seems as though this thread has derailed from its original post, and I understand y, but just wanted to say that I have a 96 grand am se with the 3100 I have a WAI and a 2.25" cat back. Also I would reccommend a strut tower brace. I am about to get the sprint lowering springs, anyway... the engine mods I have done can be kinda dangerous tho, because it sounds like it my have a turbo and I know personally I am lookin for a sleeper car when it comes to the races so yeah... Anyway IM me or nice96GAGT, he knows a bit more then me but yeah one of us can help you out with anything u need.

No....different reason. But a few of the good mods were "demoted" for things related to that. Oh well. But yeah I learned a lot of good stuff from him. We're currently tech writers for another website, but i'm also trying to get involved with the Grand Am world since that'll probably be my next car.

I still enjoy the 3100 as it stands way better than that old 2.8 i had in the camaro back in the day :lol:
