vaseline on tires???

my tires keep cracking & my boy who is a detailer said it is from the stuff i put on my tires. i use black magic tire gel. he said all the chemicals in it will eventually crack my tires. he told me to use vaseline. it works a lot better & will not crack my tires. is this true?

You want to use water based tire dressing rather than a silicon based one. Water based are actually good for your tires but don't quite last as long. The other thing too is water based doesn't sling up onto your paint like the silicon based ones will.

Can't say i've tried the vaseline though :P
