I had the 1968 GTO Convertible but things went sour with that so I parted it off and bought a 1971 Pontiac T-37. It has a 350, with rebuilt heads and a nice sounding cam. An Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holly carb. Headers, and cherry bomb header exhaust. The exhaust will soon be changed over to a dual flowmaster 40 series system with an Xover pipe.

So I started it up, reved it up, dropped the clutch, went till it couldn't any more. Then went back to, start it up, rev it up, dump the clutch. It took like 5 starts to get it out of there. But it did it !

Heh. Yeah, I get alot about the paintjob. People either love it, or hate it. It's really grown on me. I didn't like it at first, but looking at it for awhile, i'm starting to really appreciate it. It's.....unique. Defiantly not changing it, though. It's not a vinyl, it's actually painted, and paint is....expensive.

I'm currently deciding on whether or not to 'bird the hood. I can get the decal's nice, and fairly cheap. If it didn't have the funky paintjob i'd do it in a second, but now I think their might be too much going on if I do the hood bird, too.

its not so much the design, but the color of the paint job, that brown and yellow are HIDEOUS colors. the Red and Silver would have been fine, but the Yellow and Brown just BLOW.

It's the 2.8 V6 (Unfortunately....really wanted a V8). Really, I wasn't even looking for that kind of car. Just kind of fell onto me. I mainly bought it because it was cheap. There's *NOTHING* around here for $800. I couldn't get a rusted out, barely running 83 Civic for that, let alone an 87 Firebird in pretty damn good shape.

I was looking for an absolute beater. Instead....I got something that's actually pretty cool.

92CamaroRS: Yeah, the colors are....odd. Mind you, it's not BROWN. It's GOLD, which might not have shown up so well in the pictures....but, yeah. Not that it's really any better lol. The story behind the paintjob is that the previous owner had like, 20 Firebirds and wanted to try his hand at painting. He happened to have those colors laying around. He then decided that he really didn't need it anymore.

The car runs like a dream. I've had it for a week now, driving the hell out of it. It's a wonderful car. Lol, think it runs better than my Grand Am ever did. Has ~120,000 miles on it (just rolled over to 120). Blue Book price is $950, so, I guess I did get a good deal. I also bought the car in Pennsyvlania, an hour and half from where I live. Here, if I sold the car, I could easily get $1,500 for it. Used Cars are more expensive here, for some reason.

Besides, being the geek I am, I like the stripes now that I figured out what they remind me of. The Transformer Rodimus Prime! That's the cars new name: Rodimus.

DontPass: Yeah, the 2.8l really does have a unique sound. Sounds kinda....exotic. Which, I don't particularly like on a Firebird, but it does sound cool nonetheless. Sucks that it's slow as balls, though. One thing the Grand Am had on it....it was faster.

I've actually got more top end than my buddies V8 S10, my guess.....higher gears

I've got a stock motor and a junk 5 speed, he's got a .060 over 350, that's built pretty stout, a built 700R4, and a locker

all depends on how its built. When i get around to doing it, MY S10 will be insane.
