im starting to build up the tools and parts to do some major engine work. my LIM gaskets are leaking AGAIN (3rd time) so this time im doing it myself. im getting the gaksets changed in the olds as we speak (at the dealer).
heres what im gonna do while im working on it:
-v8 valve springs (ive gotta find that post)
-ported upper intake manifold
-ported TB
-polish upper intake manifold (no more paint)
-polish valve covers (no more paint as well)
-MSD ignition
-new coolant reservoir (mines yellow again)
-replace the lower radiator hose (its been sitting here for months)
-install 180* thermostat (also been sitting here for months)
if anyone else has any ideas of what i can do while the engine is aparet please lemme know. im not gonna do forced induction or NOS, this is just internal engine work that im gonna do now. ill probably do it during the whole summer since ive got the olds (or i will when it comes back from the dealer)

valve springs... fun.. lol instead of replacing the coolant reservoir every now n then why not try painting it? seen a black one in a black car looked awsome made it blend in so much better someday im gonna polish the massive alluminum intake on the 4 banger might b way 2 much bling tho take lots of pics i like to see progress of different cars

i considered it, but ill first see how much the reservoir costs. if its pretty cheap then ill just replace it, otherwire i might just paint it. its nice to be able to see how high the fluid is, if its painted then i wont be able to see in.

i dont think i have what it takes to pnp the heads, or can it be done with a dremel? id use the brushed rather than a grinder...er thats what i was thinking for the upper itnake manifold unless i end up gettig one thats been done already.
and where can i get a cam for the 3400? isnt that lower end work? im tryig to just do the upper end f the motor...not doing more work than i have to.
oh but i will do the TB spacer.

If your doing the valve springs look into some higher rate rocker arms. IIRC ours are 1.6:1. If so 1.7:1 should net a nice 10-15hp gain thoughout the rpms and just as much torque. Not sure with would you would be able to interchange with.
