i have a 2003 gand am. i got a compustar alarm installed with keyless entry recently i was looking at how it was wired and i noticed they did not use relays for the lock/unlock from wich i understood you needed. also the person that installed it connected the starter kill through a 1.5k resistor to the white wire on my bcm also to the white wire they hooked up my trunk out put (both wires are from the alarm brain). can someone explain this to me
also would this then mean i do not need a relay for my trunk popper

i have an alarm
1st- the installer didnt add after market relays that i thought you needed.
2nd- from my alarm the domelight output runs through a 1.5k resitor to a white wire on my bcm, alsoto the same wite wire runs my trunk release output on my alarm i was wondering why they did this.
any help would be great
are the door locks working? my car starter said i woudl need a relay to make it work, but tapping into the lock and unlock wires it works just fine, haven't had a problem with it
as for the resister and the connections, why not ask the people that installed it

no my locks work fine but if they didnt need relays for them then can i tap into the trunk popper relay so i dont need an after market one
i woudl just go with the ercomended relay for the runk, i mean relays are only worth what about 3 bucks?
