i'm trying to remove the cloth door inserts on the door panels, but they are glued down. is there any sort of solvent i can put on there to undo the glue??

i've tried just pulling up the inserts but then i am also pulling the vinyl away from the door panel itself??

how have others rewrapped the inserts on the 96-98's???

thanks for any input and help with this

patrick

mines coming loose and it does look like glue...Id take a hair dryer and just go back and forth with it and lightly pull back. Im wanting to redo mine but Im thinking about fiberglassing the whole door instead.

dude. heres how i did mine. ill get pics tomorrow or something.

take a torch and an exacto knife. stick the blade into the burning torch, let it get hot and slowly pull back the material while sliding the hot knife into the glue and it comes apart really easily. use 3M adhesive spray to apply the fabric and then plastic weld to put the piece back on. AIM: wilywill1 ill give you better directions

i took GTofDeath's advice and took a utility knife and cut right around the insert. with the new vinyl overlaying the insert, it should easily cover any sort of view of the cut lines...

i'll try and get some pics posted along the way and once its done...
