Ok... so I'm lookin to get a new cd player and im checking a few out.
The ones I am lookin at have a Aux. Input. Is this all I really need to hook up a ipod/ dell pocket dj. I really wanna hook one up to my stereo, but if there is alot of stuff I need to buy for it to work then I'm not going to get it.
I just thought since it had the Aux. In. then I would be fine with like a direct connect.
Just my thoughts, cuz I dont know what I'm talking about.

yup, AUX IN is all you need for a quality connection.
There are some adapters out which will let you control the iPOD from a compatible HU and also show song info on the deck but those will run over 60 bucks or so.
Just one thing you need to pay attention is if the AUX IN connector is ready on the back of the deck or it will need an adapter for it. Those kind of adapters will run around 20 bucks.

To clarify more, look at this HU:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-N01gZcmlG9C/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=62700&id=features_and_specs&i=500cda9830
It says AUX IN is Optional so it will need a 20 dollarish cable if you decide to use AUX IN.

Oh and one last thing, when you do connect your MP3 Player/SAT Radio make sure the volume on it is between 50% to 70% for a clear distortion free audio.

One like this... That says it has it. If it says optional that means I have to pay like $20 to get it hooked up right.
I was looking at a panasonic one from circuit city which said it had an Aux. In. but I'm guessing it didnt since I can't find it on the website. My friend said that audiobahn wasn't really user friendly, they just got it and he hasn't tested it out all to much.

hey man, good to see you're from around town.

there is a link to the manual, which should explain what kind of input. Its also ipod ready, so you could use an ipod with it. It lets the headunit talk to the ipod and provide control of it including displaying song titles right on the heatunit. My pioneer will do it. If you need help wiring it, feel free to ask.
