My friend who owns a Neon done to the tits (its actully quite fast around 240 hp at the wheel) Was disscussing with me that I should just skip the Header and just get a super charger put on at the local Pontiac dealer where he use to work. I then said would I not be able to put both header and SC on it?

He told me that It would cause m e some trouble later on and my engine could blow..... Now I have cuaght him in some Bsing before, so i thought Id runt his by you guys. SC and Header not good?

Also superchargers are they well worth the money? and should i Skip getting header I want?

uh... i think your okay with putting a header on with a supercharger... most of the guys with 3400's who have blowers have headers i believe...

the 2.4 with the eaton m45 blower will love having a header and cat-back. Go for it.

They would compliment each other, but you would not be able to beat a 240hp neon. sorry

If you're looking to get around 240 whp you could get the charger, get the 10psi pulley (i think it's the 2.6) run an alcohol injection system(without cooling the gm charger, the 10psi pulley is worthless. heatsoak sucks), get the RSM 62mm TB(bolts right up to gm charger), of course the header and cat-back, PnP the head, and maybe a set of custom cams. That SHOULD put you pretty close to that mark. maybe a lil nitrous for sh!ts and giggles too.

oh and you can strip of the powdercoating from the m45 and polish the crap out of it to keep the intake temp down too.

check out the boost forum on j-body.org and read up on everything there. If you got the $$ there's plenty of fun to be had.

Keep in mind that when you cram more air and ultimately more fuel into the cylinders there's going to be a lot more exhaust wanting to come out too. Headers are almost a must with a supercharger in any car.

I should have a pacesetter header back exhaust pretty soon. My RSM blower goes on this weekend :)

too bad it's gonna be like 100 degrees + while we install it :( Even at night it's hot.

Your friend has his head up his ass. On any boosted car you'll want a free-flowing exhaust system. Headers on any boosted car = a good thing.

You run mid-13's? I'd like to see that.

Tell your friend to stick with the Neon because if he actually said that, it's clearly obvious he either A)Has no clue wat he is talking about. B)Is nervous that your car will give him a run for it's money. Or C)All the above.Originally posted by Azrael
