I just but a new sct spoiler from sportwing.com. I have the stock wing on my car now which is an 04. I just tried putting on the spoiler and ran into some problems. One problem is that when the bolts are off the stock spolier it seams like it has a seal around it or something and it might be stuck on. Another problem is if I take the stock one off will it chip the the paint or anything? and lastly the new spoiler doesn't take up as much room as the stock one does, so will i have sppots or something around the new one. If anyone has any info on this please let me know asap because i only have 5 days to return it.

Those aren't relly problems, they're normal. The wing is stuck on using double-sided tape. You will have to remove the tape to get the wing off. Your new wing will be secured using tape as well.

The SC/T posts do not line up perfectly with the factory posts, so if you damage the paint getting the factory wing off, you WILL see it, especially at the rear.

Heat the area, and cut the adhesive with fishing line. It's tricky, but it can be done. Good luck.

Okay so if I get the stock spoiler off. It's gonnna be black underneath it right? like where the posts or whatever hold it to the car its gonna be black right not like a different color from my car? and what would I use to get the glue off around it?

Under the double-sided sticky tape will be the same exact color as your car. The trunk is painted, then the wing is put on over the paint, so it won't be bare metal under there if thats what your asking.

I got mine off sportwing.com as well. It's really cheaper. I dunno if it's same material as the GM one, but they look exactly the same. A lot cheaper too. Mine was about $227 painted and shipped to match my car. I think the GM one is about $370 unpainted.

But anyway, as everyone has said above, just take a wrench and take out those stock bolts. Those rubber seals just rip off easily. Sportwing SCT spoiler will use new bolts it came with. Use the fishing line and saw it to cut the stock double sided tape between the spoiler and the trunklid. If you are ready to pull up the stock wing, do it carefully and have one person pull up from each end. I did it all myself and I ended up denting my trunklid. The fishing line made some scratches too. When I shaved badges, the fishing line didn't scratch the surface, but I dunno why it got scratched that time. I am glad my paint is silver because those scratches and dents aren't that visible.

How are you supposed to cut the adhesive with those bolts in the way? You can only cut up to a certain point.

I know what you mean. I think if you just cut the edges, it should move. You could use something like a plastic knife but that will probably scratch.

New problem...there's like a ring around where the old spoiler was...I don't really think it's adhesive, maybe just built up old wax and dirt?? It's right around the edges of where the old spoiler was and I can't get it off with anything. Any suggestions?

Try Goo Gone. I had that too. I removed it as best as I could. The new spoiler covers some of it though.

I used Oops!, which I think is basically the same thing. Somebody else just told me to try rubbing compound...
