Grand O Am

OK, I've searched the FAQ and some threads already but still need some more info. I have a can of R134a and ready to recharge my AC. I have a 97 Grand Am SE. I see where the high pressure valve is but cannot find the low pressure one. I read that it is under the car. Is the valve right next to the compressor? Do you have to take the passenger front wheel inner wall off to get to it? I've looked under the car but cannot get to the compressor from there. Someone please help. Thanks in advance.

make sure you have a gage or you can get too much in and it will burn up your compressor

I'm having the same problem. The dude at advance auto parts didn't even know where it was. He thought it might be under the car to. These cars really are built to be taken to the dealership.

Yep, it's just in front where the starter is. Well on the 3.1 anyways. Yep near the compressor. It should have a little blue cap on it.

2.4 is the same way. I had to jack up my car and the compressor is right on the bottom. The low pressure line coming off it the valve is about 3 inches down from the line right in front of the compressure. I only had single gauge which still caused me to over fill mine.
I was filling it and all of a sudden after about 10 min the compressor shut off.
I still think I need to bleed more off because in town it shuts on and off and don't cool. But on the highway 42 degree baby. :)
