I recently have been having a problem when driving the car. It seemed like there was a fuel pump problem as when driving and hitting the gas the car was not getting enough power and it would drag but then all of the sudden pick back up. It only does this when my foot is on the gas and it only stalled out once. It seems to do it when at a full stop and then sometimes just when driving at a normal speed like 60 mph where it will lose some power but pick back up. My mechanic thought it was starving for fuel so I replaced the fuel pump. Then I got the car back and it still did the same thing, so the mechanic replaced the throttle position senser. Now he said the problem is so intermittant it is hard to diagnosis it. Before this the car did not pass inspection and I had to replace the catalytic converter. However, no codes are coming up on the computer. Anyone have any ideas? Just to let you know I also had the engine rebuilt and that seems to be running fine. The car has 94,000 miles and only about 9,000 on the rebuilt engine and it is an automatic.

I went through just about this same thing on my 91. After changing fuel pump, plugs, wires, filters. half a dozen sensors.
I came down to the comuter. 350.00 later it worked great.
