hey guys i was reading Modified Mag and they had a section on the Stand Alone EFI engine management systems and just reading it got me interested in obtainning one for my 2.2eco GA. Was wondering if anything from someone like AEM or GReddy(i know these are import tuner names) would work with the GA set up. Or if there are better less $$$$$$$ ways of doing something similar. Any feed back would be sweet

I run Greddy e-manage on my car... its not a standalone its a piggyback system. Works good for adjusting ignition timing and adding extra fuel when needed with a turbo / s/c setup.

Since you do not have Japanese sensors on the engine, Greddy & AEM will both add some difficulties.
Best choice IMO... Electromotive Tec3. Not cheap, but very robust. Cheaper alternative, a used Tec2.
If you're a do-it-youself'er... Megasquirt.

But... there's absolutely no reason to run one unless you have extensive engine machining and/or boost.

The e-manage isn't too problematic of an install on the 2.4... at least now that everyone has figured out its little quirks such as running a 330 ohm resistor on the map sensor...
I thought a tec2 was a code reading tool?

The Tec2 is a code reading tool used by GM techs and but the TEC3 stands for Total Engine Control 3. I was reading up on it the other day because i also thought he was talking about the code reader. Looks pretty sweet but it didn't give a price on the web sight which iv come to learn is never a good sign for the wallet.

Electromotive's Tec-2 was the precurser to the Tec-3. I'm not not talking about the code reader with the same name.
