Now that's what I'm taliing about when I say auto manufacturers need to make "throw back" models somewhat like the originals!!!! That still looks like a 'Cuda.....only updated.

When you order yours Kelly, get one for me too!!! Someting in Red would be nice.

A memory of the new Charger prototype verses the production reality. I will vomit when they try to stick that dodge ram grill in that nice littleCuda. :barf:

wow...now that is nice. Yeah hopefully they don't change it much from the concept model, because that is awesome.

I thought that too ... I'd just drop the Dodge part and call it the Hemi 'Cuda :)

Yea, they had better not f*** with it. If I see that ignorant square 4 box grille on it, someone at Daihmer-Chrystler is getting stabbed. Or however you spell "Diahmer"

Where di u get that pic?

Looks alot like an eddited pic of a Charger that i have seen before.

Surprised how no one else noticed that it is a charger with a masaged grill, two doors and some hood scoops.

Is this realy in the works at Dodge, or is that just some ones dream????

I think the Charger is a nice car and if that Cuda goes into production it'll be even better.

Well seeing as the Dodge Charger and Plymouth Baracuda of the late 60s and early 70s used to share simular sheet metal and built on the same chassis why would it surprise you that they used the same thing for the Charger and Cuda now?

Looks like the current Mustang IMO......

No, you're right. But im just trying to find out if this is a real idea form Chrystler or if some one phot shopped a Charger for their Mopar wet dreams :D

Here is a shot of what the charger was SUPPOSED to look like.

Why didn't they stick with that? I would want one of those in black.

I too think the Hemi Cuda pictured looks more like a mustang than anything else.

Secondly I wish I had never seen the pic of the prototype charger. Not being into mopar personally I somehow missed that. Now I'm sad that it didn't get made.

Just when I'd convinced myself that the charger wasn't so bad afterall.

I don't see anything exciting about this latest styling makeover. I personally think the 300/Magnum/Chargers are all ugly and unappealing. To me, this doesn't look like a 'Cuda. And as stated before, the Charger looks like a Mustang, maybe even more Mustang then the Mustang??? :D

Thank the auto god at Chrysler for not going with that design.
Look how long and fugly that front end is!
:puke:

I like the current design and hopefully they will make a two verson of it someday, 'Cuda or not.

^^^ i agree, that looks more like a TVR than a muscle car.

Atleast they gave it a shot, but its not my favorite, kinda ugly rear end on the curretn Charger.

invaderzim624

The rear end on the charger looks like the older 300. Take the front half of the magnum and mount it to the back of a late 90's 300 and you get the charger.

I think it looks like a chop too. The window/roof looks airbrushed possibly a 4 door to 2 door conversion.

in that concept picture that IS a 4 door...look at the lines. that one is ugly, but closer to the original than the one thats out right now. when i saw the current charger at the auto show i almost fell asleep.

if you look at this mings MPH magazine, they compare the GTO to the Charger to the mustang. it was the first time ive seen the GTO beat the mustang in a magazine. they actually recognized that the GTO is the fastest one of the class. they did say how plain it looks, but they compared that to the original muscle cars saying that those werent good looking either.

sorry for going off topic...i just had to get that in.

Though considering the GTO is about $8K above the 'stang, the Mustang is the better value.

I don't know about you, but I've really got a thing for the new GTO for some reason.

Prospeeder
07-19-2005, 02:20 AM
yea, even tho the GTO comes fully loaded for 32k, while the mustang is bare bones for 23k, wow, great value

b2089
07-19-2005, 02:53 AM
A fully loaded mustang is withing spitting distance of a GTO and still 100 horses shy. We need to do a FAQ on why the Mustang is NOT A GOOD VALUE compared to the GTO.

going back to MPH magazine, heres prices as tested:

mustang GT: $28k US
GTO : $32k US
ChargerL $31k US

so they were right around the same price, PLUS the GTO is available with employee pricing where the mustang is NOT. Actually, the mustang has a dealer markup.

the mustang also has cheap looking plastic gauges inside, where as the GTO has color matched gauges to the exterior for certain colors.

the GTO has less plastic ont he inside than both charger and stang. ive never seen so much plastic as ive seen on the charger/300/magnum. its rediculus what they try to get away with.

Go to pontiacs web site. The GTO is the ONLY Pontiac that DOESN'T offer employee pricing. Which really SUCKS!!!!

hmmm that is interesting since the dealer even told me that if i wanted to buy today they would get me the employee price. its probably a dealer by dealer basis...GM doesnt wanna screw the dealerships in the area where the GTO will actually sell.

what a goofy thread, it supposed to be about that fake picture of a chargder..er, uhh, i mean Cuda but its turned into Mustang VS GTO. I could post about a toaster oven on this site and you people would find a way to turn it into Ford vs GM or Import vs Domestic. haha

Every thread, if it last long enough eventually turns in to Mustang verses GTO on this forum.

It’s just the force of the universe, the glue that holds everything together.

The way it is, the way it always been, an the was it shall be.

My dad had 2 cuda's(that's right Barracuda's not Hemi cuda's). I will definetly look into this once it has a price tag, Cuda is one of the few muscle cars I want in my collection, a new one would definetly fit in place of an original.
