View Full Version : HVAC speed only works on 5
so my speed control only work on 5 and once you put it back to 4,3,2,1 it turns off
so i read this is this what i need to replace?
the blower resistor?

I'd go with yes. I just bought one for $26 US from a dealership...planning on putting in today.

Just put mine in....my back hurts now! Holy crap that sucks to get to that back screw without the proper tools!
Did it in an hour, beat that!!! :P

How, in the hell, did you get your hand back there?!? Mine's wayyyyyy too big to fit, and even my sister can't fit her's back there.... God damn PITA... :pissed:
a list of tools as to what i will need would be great... anyone?

I was trying to do it halfassed with just a socket head at an angle, but that wasn't working. I went to the local hardware store to get a flex-extension, but all they had was this realy small rachet...I bought it and gave it a whirl...it was a bitch, like one click at a time, but i got it eventually. If you can find a flex extension small enough, get it!
That's pretty much the only tool you need to replace the resistor, except for a 1/4" hexdriver to get the other screws out of the plastic panel.
well i'll give it a shot this week .. maybe i willl turn it in to a how to for the forum.
