Could be a number of things. If you don't use the A/C system at least once a week no matter what the weather (remember, you can use the A/C and set the temp to 'hot' during cold weather. Helps keep from fogging windows too) then it's possible that the orifice tube or other components have accumulated 'stuff' and that's blocking the flow of refridgerent. It's also possible there's a small leak in the system.
It's also possible you're imagining things, but since the systems 6-7 years old and original, you're probably right that it's not as cold.
I'd have it looked at and probably have a can of tracer dye added, if you can't do it yourself. If there's a leak it'll find it. If it comes down to replacing things, the orifice tube is a favorite, but don't open the system unless necessary.
cool thx i think it just might be my mind
it was pretty cold today when it was 100+degrees out.

They make those AC recharging things, but in my experience they never work. So I don't recommend them.
