Stock CD player says CHECK CD

My factory CD player now reads "check CD" constantly. With a cd in or out of the cd player and it takes it's sweet time ejecting the cd. It just stopped without me doing anything. It will not play any cd's. Oh by the way 2001 GAGT w/monsoon system and tapedeck!

Try running a cd lense cleaning disk on it. If that doesn't help, then it is time to think about replacing the deck.

You might also pull the ground wire off the battery, then after a couple minutes hook it back up. A power cycle may reset the CD so it will play. Like rebooting a PC.

Thanks you guys for your help. But when I went back to my car, the CD player was working fine but if it happens again I will be sure to take this advice.
