the car is a 99 grand am 2.4
ok i found where the tranny fluid spot is that you add but how do i know how much i have in is there supposed to be a dipstick attached on the end ? if so i dont have one? its just a cap i unscrew and thats it....
just wondering how i know if i have tranny fluid? also if i need to buy some what kind should i be buying?
ok.. i did some reading so it sounds like there is no dipstick.... but what im wondering is how do i know if i need to add some? or how do i know i have enough in there?

i read it.. so basically if i want to check to see if i have enough tranny fluid in i have to jack it up and get under there?

To check it properly the car has to be level and the trans fluid hot , you can't just jack up the front , it's best to use a hoist or lift both ends equally . Use Dexron 3 fluid
