could it hurt to run two pieces of speaker wire from the amp to the sub
, like instead of just a single piece run two side by side to the same place and everything. Would it allow more power to get to it? i know buying bigger wire would work but i was just wondering if it would work with two wires

no reason why it shouldnt but theretically with 2 wires i would assume there would be higher resistance in 2 wires than 1 ... so the 1 should transfer the sound better though

I would say only temporarily

Duel feed is used all the time in electrical work.
If you double the wires, you have less resistance not more. You increase the circular mil area allowing moe amps to flow.
Multiple 10 gauge wires could be run under the carpet to reduce the hump created by 2 or 4 gauge.

Electricity flows similar to water. The more pipes the easier the flow and multiple pipes are equal to larger pipes. The length of the wire increases resistance, the diameter decreases it.

:agree:
i've seen several pieces of smaller gauge wire used in place of bigger wire on more than one occasion. the only problem with it that might arise is that's just more places for wire to come undone and cause trouble.
