whining noise - alternator or power steering pump?

Whenever my car is rolling, I hear some whining noise under the hood. Is it possible that the alternator can make the noise?

does it increase with speed of the car or the rev of the engine.. if its rev of the engine... take belt off and rotate the alt.. which is usually the culprit.. and power stereo you should hear a squeal and then you know

only when its rolling could with the drive axle or the wheel bearing i had to replace mine.
