Monsoon HU Help........

i was wondering how you can power the monsoon factory deck while its not in the car? i have found the power and ground wire, and i can get the hu to light up when i press the recall button, but it will not power on, i know they use a negitive switch to turn on. the reason i want to know is that i want to make a box with some 6x9's and put it in my garage for a stereo....
the deck is out of my 03 GA SE1.

I'm pretty sure these HU need the Databus II to be connected to function. They have to be able to talk with the BCM to, among other things, confirm the vehicle's serial number matches what's stored in the HU (Theftlock system).

how do i check the serieal #, is it printed on the HU, it shoud match cause i took it out of my car and compleatly rewired my whole sound system. so what your saying is that there is porbibly nooo way i can use my monsoon deck?

The deck will work in another car if the dealer or someone with the proper computer re-programs it. Hooking it up in a box won't work. That's why people don't steal GM monsoon systems or many other GM factory systems, they don't work out of the car.
