I need to say this.... having this event mid week makes it VERY tough for anyone who works.

I would strongly suggest we look into making this a weekend event in the years to come.

The dates have been known for MONTHS, no reason people couldnt request time off.

The meet continues through the weekend... If you can't make it for the weekday events, you can still come for the weekend.

Having the meet through the meet was a necessity to be able to book the space at Thatcher Park, since we outgrew our previous spot from past years.

I guess we can't please everyone. :(

You see - I didnt mean it as criticism.. Iam sorry you took it that way. No need for anyone here to get defensive.

The original post stated a concern in that there were not many cars registered... I simply gave a possible explination as to why.

as for going for the weekend.. well, the picnic and the show/shine is on Thursday. Id be willing to bet thats the main reason most people go. Maybe next year the admins could schedule the main event for a Sat?

Anyhow, this is just my 2 cents... I didnt mean to offend anyone. Iam and was just simply stating my opinion.

I kinda agree that the show and shine would have been better on saturday. For me it doesnt really matter cause ill be there for the hole time but I see why it would be better for others. Oh and btw everyone herd I was coming this year so now there scared and no one wants to go ;)

... up until this year, we went the the track on Saturday and then had the Show and Shine on Sunday ... this year, as Shawn stated, we couldn't get a larger parking area for Sunday so we basically had to go for a different day ... then, we were trying to get the track to ourselves but could only afford that if it was through the week at night so we made the dates but then finally, the track costs ended up being WAY TOO MUCH :( ... by then, we had already publicized the dates and couldn't change them ... kind of confusing but it is just the way it worked out :)

Anyway, if you can't make it Thursday ... please, come out to the Hotel on Friday night or Saturday morning and then come to the track with us ... there is no charge (except what the track charges to get in and/or race) ... I look forward to seeing ANYONE and EVERYONE!!!

On a side note, if you are coming out on Friday night or Saturday, please let me know via email and I will put you on the list ... make sure you take a look at the schedule for times we will be leaving so you don't get left behind :(

To get the larger pavilion we it was easier to reserve it for a Thursday. Fri-Sun we would have been entered itno a 'lottery' drawing for that date and mid July its a very good chance that we might not get one at all.
