Hi guys, spent the majority of the night hooking up the remote start/alarm, Viper 791XV, the alarm works perfectly and the main module knows the car is running etc, however it will not remote start, fromt eh diagnostics it appears to be looking for its neutral or park switch, so into the console I will go tomorrow I guess to find it, anyone have any idea what I am loking for? 1996 grand am SE

if its a negative input... hook it to ground.. thats what i did or conversly if its a positive input.. hook it to 12v

(thats assuming you have an automatic.. with a manual i think you'd want to actually hook it up)

The neutral or park switch lets you start the car in neutral or park on the gear selector. I have a manual tranny and have no clue where it would be located. It could be on the transmission end of the cable.

Thanks, that worked (kinda ) now it at least try's to start but immediately dies, I am sure the bypass for the passlock is working fine, the security light in the cluster is not lighting up when the car dies, the diagnostics read that it is getting low/no rpm's so might be my tach wire, but at the moment not a huge deal as the alarm works and thats really all I need at the moment.
