Hey every one...i own a black GAGT....and after i wash it, going through a touchless car wash, hand wash, or using Mr. Cleans auto dry....dirt still shows back up. Any suggestions on removing dirt after washing? The reason for this is because i would like to try Duponts new Teflon wax.
Thanks
Eric

The only time i get dirt to "come back" is when i dont wash it good enough or miss a spot.
Car might need buffed, or something to get it off.

I know exactly what you're talking about. My mom's Trailblazer WAS the same.
I don't know you so I don't know if you wash/wax your car regularly, but my mom's trailblazer always looked like shit after I washed it, because the dirt and grime look would dry right back on.
I solved this by giving it a coat of wax. Problem solved. I used Meguire's Three Step for my mom's car, but I highly recommend Nanowax or NXT: great stuff.
If that doesn't work, try claybar'ing it first. If your paint feels "gritty", it needs a bar.

Adam is right. Cory just recently tried it as well and was impressed.
I guess the results I got from it weren't good enough to spend the time doing it when I get just as good, if not better, results from the NXT wax. And I said Meguires 3 step, Adam's right, its the MOTHERS three step, my bad.
Either way, a couple coats of wax and the dirt shouldn't appear dried on there again.

I highly recommend the MOTHERS 3 step system. The first step is an actual paint cleaner. If something like that doesn't work, you may want to go to a product like Meguiars Medium cut cleaner and actually use a buffer to believe it or not, actually take off the 1st layer of paint. You'll actually see a bit of black on the buffing wheel itself. Then proceed with a proper cleaning system and you'll be AMAZED at the shine.
Here's a pic of my black car..... it's a little small.
It was about to RAIN, but you can still see how it shined.

Update: I used the NXT wax from meguiars, and it shines like none other....well better than it has been, when i washed before i put the wax on...the water dident even bead up ( totally forgot about was beading water stupid me) and when i finished washing...i used a chamois and hardly any dirt showed back up and then i waxed the car...much better shine :)

Might need a good clay barring too :)

I LOATHE claybarring. I absolutely detest doing it, usually becasue it takes me so long, but when Im done, Im so happy I did it.

Oh, and touchless car washes are a no no.. Unless it's winter OR you physically can't get out there and do it.. Hard Water + Black Car = EEEEEEK Try a chamois to dry it too, That autodry stuff DOES work, but only on a clean car.. I mean All it is a hose with soap in that you're spraying.. there's no elbow grease in it
