My latest mod. I got a SC/T wing and started drilling. I installed a pair of CCFL lights in the groove to match the pair I put into the third brake light.

wow, that's awesome... do you get the cold cathode tubes off of ebay or where?

and the cover it a very good idea... it looks really sweet.

EDIT::
how do you have them hooked up to turn on? with the TBL, or a switch, or something else?

That was one of the first things I did when I got my GT a few years ago, but it was a purple neon. What a PAIN to do!

I got the CCFL's from ebay. I used two tubes and two inverters, one on each side. I tucked the inverters in the holes where the lid attaches to the arm.

The power comes from the third brake light wires. When the brakes are on, the wing is lit. That's why I used red lights.

Interesting. Do you have an ebay dealer that you would recommend for the cold cathodes? I want to get some for my back seat floors.

ok, did a little reading. generally how long are the wires between the inverters and the tubes?

Just search under "CCFL" and select lowest price. There was one guy that I put in an offer of $.01 each for ten sets and he accepted it. Shipping was about $50.

There's about a foot of wire on each lamp and most inverters can power two lamps. You can't easily lengthen the wires. I tried it and the tubes were dim.

That was my first thought when I got my SC/T wing, but I didn't know how well it would show against my red paint....

that looks familiar.. LOL..

dont be fooled, you can do this to any factory wing, 96-05, GT, SE, SC/T... they all got the groove... not sure on pre 96..

its realy not that hard and the plexi wasnt neccessary as i had some neons in mine for 3 years and never had a problem...

i would put a 3 way toggle on those, so you could pimp those when parking or none at all or pimp while braking..

nice, id like to see a total level shot from the back to see your wire run...

I remember you saying that you did the same thing. I was planning on using diodes or a relay so it lights both when the underbodies and/or the brakes are on.

All the wires are hidden between the two layers of the trunk. Nothing is visible when the trunk is open. I ran one light down each leg of the wing.

C Ya monday, heading to Albany right now.

I would check out oznium.com for Cold Cathodes.

And I was accually thinking about doing that exact same thing, a few months ago, but I didn't want to drill any holes in my wing. Looks good.

I'm getting one for my Caddy.

That tenspeed is the nicest guy I ever met! I voted for his car and he won! I would have voted for him even without the ten dollar bribe, he deserved it. His car is mint!

I used two 12" CCFL cold cathodes. Each one has a wire and a tranfsformer in the trunk lid. You can't extend the length of the wires, they are dim if they come on at all.

I drilled holes at the ends of the groove and fished the wires through drilled holes in the legs.

You might be able to fit two neons in there.
