this might be kind of a dumb question....but ive never hooked up a 4-channel amp before....here it is:

How can I hook up 4 single voice coil 4-ohm full-range speakers to a 4 channel amp to get a 4 ohm load....or is it even possible?? the only way i know to hook them up is just to plug each speaker into each channel, but it seems as though that would be a 2 ohm load....the only reason i didnt want a 2 ohm load is cuz the amp puts out 85 watts rms X 4 @ 4 ohms and 105 watts rms x 4 @ 2 ohms...that is only bad cuz the front 6x4 are only rated for 80 watts rms....the 6x9 are fine cuz they can handle 225 watts rms, but i was just scared that i would blow the 4x6 even though im only gonna have the gain to about 40-50%....any help would be appreciated....thanks

I think you should be fine just plugging each speaker into a channel as you mentioned. I'd have to see your amp specs and speaker specs to really make a whole lot more sence out of the situation.. I always hatted the Electrical Engineering side of my degree.. I'm more into programming.. (wonders how hard it would be to reprogram ECU)

I think i should be fine too....but i just wanted to make sure....also what do u know about phoenix gold mono block amps like the 600.1 .....and about 2 12" DVC 4 ohm Alpine Type R subs.....are those good....i am planning to install those around x-mas when i get about 550 bucks for them....cuz i found good deals....but rite now i got an spl amp that puts out 310 watts rms X 2 @ 4 ohms to my 2 12" DVC 4 ohm Rockford Fosgate HE2's....it bumps but i just wanna try something different for once....and from what i hear...that setup should provide a reasonable improvement in many ways !!
