View Full Version : Finding a custom sub box ?

Ok guys im planning on putting two 12" Kicker CompVR subs and one Sony Xplod 1200 amp im my 95 Grand Am, and im trying to find a really nice, with other being to crazy money wise custom box so if you guys could post any pics and tell me any ideas that would really help, thanks

go to my sounddmoain page. its not jsut a box, but rather an entire install. if you want custom theres a few ways to look at it:
1) a plain shaped box thats built to specs for your subs and is designed to fit into your car. a beauty board can also be made to make it look custom.

2) similar to the first one, but isnt the typical square/rectangular box, but rather, it has fiberglass or sonmething else to make it look custom. this type includes enclosures that use the spare tire well as volume for the box to keep it hidden.

3) an entire custom install that makes the trunk look either stock with all stereo components hidden, or to display them all for show.

they go up in price as you go down the list. a good shop will charge a lot for any of those, while crappy shops will be cheap (relatively).

if someone doesnt know what theyre doing then its really BAD to build their own box. it needs to be braced and built form the correct materials. it also need to be sealed up correctly, and then of course the person needs to have wood cutting tools.
