I have a 2003 Grand Am with 3.4 liter engine and am thinking about installing an auto-meter electric engine oil temperature gauge. Is there an easy installation place for the sensor like there is for the transmission temperature gauge? Thanks.

... you could install the engine oil temp in the same location as the engine oil pressure, I would think :)

actually Kelly you are right
On my 91 grand am I added that oil pressure guage to my vents ( i believe you have seen the pics) anyways i went to the local hardware store and bought a brass nipple and tee. I think the nipple is about an inch or a little bit bigger than that( I wanted enough room away from the block to run the oil pressure line so it wouldn't get damaged or anything. So i installed the nipple first then the tee connecter on the other end of the nipple, then i reinstalled stock oil pressure switch(you know for the idiot light in the dash) then i installed the oil pressure line to the other opening in the tee. Works really well but just recently i had to replace the oil pressure switch due to it leaking slightly.
It kinda looks like this. ... /1
/---2
3
Number 1 is the nipple where it meets the block and threads in to it. 2 is the oil pressure line where its connected to the tee fitting
3 is where the oil pressure switch is now located.
When i first did this I removed the oil pressure switch and took it with me to the hardware store so i could match the threads up on it to a nipple and tee so that i knew the nipple would thread into the block correctly. If you do this make sure that you tighten the nipple and tee enough so its not going to come loose and leak and make sure you don't over tighten it so that it snaps off in the block and you have a problem. Also use teflon tape to seal the threads so there are no leaks and also if you ever have to remove the nipple and tee they don't get seized together.
So whether not you are installing a mechanical oil temp guage or electronic they are both installed the same way. If you need help with any of this just reply back to me or pm me. I will try to be online here as much as i can but with my new edition to our family(our son) i will be very busy with him and my fiance
