Removing front bumper cover

How/What is involved in taking off the front bumper cover? With the damage mine has (my trashed bumper thread (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44563)) I want to take it off and try to do a more effective fix til I buy a new cover. Also, will the paint crack when you take the cover off? I'm thinking it's fairly flexible and don't want the paint damaged.

Drive up on ramps, remove headlights, spray the three bolts on both sides with WD40.

Remove the three pins from both wheel wells, remove the three oily bolts and the two pins from under the bumper behind the license plate.

Yank it free.
