Okay...I am tying to figure this out and have been for a while now.
Today when I started my car it had touble starting..not cranking...just starting. Like it didn't want to fire. Then mostly EVERY morning after the car sits I start it and it starts fine. Then when I try to take off after it is engaged in drive it goes...just not like it normally does. The engine has a serious lack of power. Anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds of this and then everything is normal. It takes off fine and the power is normal. I don't have a check engine light and haven't had one since I fixed the egr passage (completly clogged).

Any advice would be greatly helpful...I am TRULY stumped.

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter and air filter?

I changed the fuel filter and then the problem got worse. I've noticed that it only does it now after the car sits for about 1/2 hour at least. Then I start it and it misses. Let it idle or rev it for a few and it clears up. OR I can just start driving right away and it clears up in a couple minutes too. I am truly stumped on this one.

I already have a new air filter too. New plugs, wires, all the regular tune-up goodies. Did that back in May.

Any ideas?

It has AC Delco plugs in it now. When I changed it back in May I took out the originals....

I did switch gas the other day and am running some fuel system cleaner thru it incase I might have a clog or something. Still not getting any better as of yet. I did go and have my converter checked since I didn't know if it was original or not. It is a new one but it was missing a cap so it had a leak. Fixed it and had a exhaust mount put on so my muffler doesn't hit the driveway on the way out now...YAY.

If it is missing, I'm going with bad spark plug wires as you just changed out the plugs a few months ago. If you have a timming light hook it to each wire and hold the button for at least 30 secs. Watch for a missing flash, the missing flash is a miss at the plug.

After a few seconds the motor starts to warm, heating up the gas as it enters the motor, so it burns better. As the motor gets hot it takes less spark to make it fire.
