My GA got Owned this a.m.......

I am soooooooo livid :pissed:. My GA got hit last nite (this a.m) @ aproximatly 2:48 by some :drunk: SOB in what i think to be an import ricer type in MY own driveway in the backyard. Called the cops, got a police report, chatted with the insurance company, and the adjuster should be out by next Wed @ the latest. I have @ least 100-200 ft of tire tracks, and mud everywhere. As for the GA itself, the radiator is shot, front end, and the aircompressor is torn off from the rest of the system. Never got a look @ the car except the headlights, tread, and white paint on the car itself. I woke up to squealing tires, a crash, and one of those damned soup-can mufflers. When i find him, i will do more than the damage he did to the GT, that i know i can promise to him. Thanx for letting me rant.......... :(

DYAM Gus ... sorry to hear that ... wow, that really SUCKS!!!!!!! ... the Police have any leads on who it is?! ... maybe you should drive around looking in side streets and backyards for a smashed up 'ricer' ... good luck!!! :(

Something like that happen to our neighbor. Luckily there was an oil trail all the way to his house... He had the car hidden in his garage. He even tore up a tree and they made him plant a new one. I hope you find the guy.

but u are... ure "hating" on someone because they have a fart can... yet the fart can isnt the cause of this accident... if anything the fact that they had a loud muffler and some white traded paint will only help to catch the person...

I'll post some pics on monday. We also measured the length of the tire tracks. Aprox. 325 ft worth. I will need some expert advice on the parts of him that he left. It could have been a mini-truck, 'cause come to find out, there are square headlights, and some wierd amber lights like off of a vintage mustang or cadi. So I'm back to square one. Thanx, and if anybody wants to throw in some guesses, please feel free. By the way, I have @ least 3k of damage on it. :mad:

I'm not a 'young kid' and I've been calling ricers, ricers since beofre that dumb movie came out spawning all these half breeds.

Being a 'ricer' is more than just a fart can, it's the entire package, driver and all.

The fact that this person who hit his can had a obnoxious exhaust, speed into his driveway, drove around his lawn, hot his car and then drove away are clear traits of the famous 'ricer'. In other words someone with no repect for their self or other people's property was driving dangerously through private property, did damage to someone's personal property and left the scene of the crime because he wasn't mature enough to face the consiquenses of his actions.

Sounds like a typical ricer to me.

Yeah, I think there are many sub-levels of ricers. There are the ones that are really nice guys, but they buy those universal, noise-making tin cans, and slap it on their car just because they like the sound. Then there are the a$$holes that disrespect our cars, that also have the double decker wings, with the 3 1/2 inch muffler.

Good news........The insurance called, they got the report from the ins. adjuster, sent the estimate, and the check is also in the mail as of today! :D Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.........As far as finding the POS and it's POS owner, not much to go on as far as what was left over from his car. It seems to be a little older, maybe a car with the old flip up headlamps, or a mini-truck, like an old S-10, nissan, or toyota with the square headlamps. Pics are on the way. Oh I will trust me, I even wrote a letter to the paper with a reward. I did get the estimate from the insurane company yesterday. Ready? 6K of damage. Monday the car will be @ the body shop, taken apart, double checked for the damage, parts ordered, and put together the following week. Should be back home on the 19th of August.

i know how you feel i just bought my ga-gt about 2 weeks ago and on my way home from work a couple days ago a 3000gt blew a stop sign and side swiped me taking out the dr side form the door back and the back bumper. i almost killed him i had only had the car 10 days!!!!!!!!!

I agree with that....most of the ones around here all have the fart can and think there 4 banger civic's can take anything, and there a$$holes to everyone who doesnt have a civic. HOw much is covered by insurance?

Yep....latest update. Just got him back and he looks new again. There was slight frame damage which was pulled out, welded, sanded and painted. By accident, they painted under the hood, the actual color of the GT, (silver) with clear, so they asked if I wanted to keep that or go back to the dull grey. It is the color of the car with the rest of the inside, paint matched mirrors, instead of the black, and i had them keep all of the badges off, except my arrowhead. Pics, I promise when I have the computer up and running again.......after being hit, after teardown, during rebuild, and after all of the work. :D

sorry to hear about the accident man. that sucks, but happy to hear u got the GA back. Im a pretty big guy, willing to help u kick his ass if you find him. Had that happen to me in my '02 Diamante. As far as the ricer thing goes, i agree there are the ******* ones, and the cool ones. I have a 92 talon tsi awd. I don't like to put a bad image to ricers, but i do have to admit, mine sounds good with an 18g turbo, greddy type s blow off valve, 18 psi boost, and a 3-in turbo back exhaust. I have the "Fart can", but i also have the car to back it up, lol. Good luck with the GA

Sucks this happened in your own damn driveway. Thats pretty ****ing :gay:. I get paranoid parking my car on the street. I know it's no Ferrari, but...you know it's my car and god damn would I be pissed if someone hit it.

Another thing I am paranoid of is my side mirrors. I wish they folded up or something lol.
