Hey,
When i go over bumps, like little tiny ones. Something in the back is making a squeaking noise. Is there anything to repair this.
Thanks,

Sounds like strut mount bearing. If this bearing is bad, as your suspension moves up and down and the spring on the strut twists, it causes the bearing to grind. If you push down on the backend of your car can you pinpoint where it is coming from? Could be several other things as well.

If that is the case a lil silicone spray does the trick :)

If you're squeaking in the back when going over bumps, dips, etc and have JUST REPLACED the entire strut assemblies and STILL have the squeak, and have tried rocking the car from side to side and up and down and NO SQUEAK, what else could it be? I'm about ready to torch this thing. It's the $300 in new struts that's keeping it from going up in flames right now!

Are you absolutely positive the noise is coming from the outside of the car? Have you definitively ruled out the contents of your trunk as being the location of the squeak? On several occasions over the years I've heard various noises from my vehicles - noises that sounded like they were on the outside of the car - only to eventually realize that the noises were resulting from something inside my car. :banghead:

We've checked the trunk already and everything under the carpet was bolted down. Even after taking everything OUT of the trunk it still squeaks.
Today, we put the car up on jacks, and pushed down on the trunk and no squeak. When we put it back on the ground and pushed down on the trunk again, it squeaked. When we pulled the wheel, braced the drum on a cinder block and pushed down on the trunk - still squeaked. It's definitely coming from under the car - as it's louder outside than in. Silicone spray and lithium grease have definitely not done the trick either. I'm open for more suggestions here ...........

We've replaced the entire strut assembly (including the coils). Where would the strut mount bearing be - in relation to the assembly?

It would be between the top of the strut and the car.

Turns out it wasn't the struts making the noise - but the rear lateral links were bent. $300 MORE later and now the squeak is gone. Anyone know somebody needing struts? Used....
