Wow this section sure is dull every time I pop in here it's like a graveyard. It's kinda sad....
anyhow, how bout them cams eh? You think those billet 3x00 cams actually add 30 HP? can someone explain to me how that works exactly? I could believe 10 but 30??? deyaaamm and stage 1 is only $380 well worth the cash if you ask me.
are cams hard to install? is it something a person can do without lifting the motor? I'm thinking not, cuz aren't our motors like valved so the cam is on the bottom?
hey, just tryin to find stuff to discuss. maybe someone has done this already. BTW I have no other engine mods. thinkin about the CAI and cam from Milzy Motorsports.

yes they definately add the 30 hp claimed....I saw a 24 WHP gain and that was with barely any tuning. xonelith on here is in the low 200 range for WHP...so yes it is a big time hp maker. For the installation. Yes the motor needs to be out.

I put HKS 272 cams in my Eagle Talon and i made 60 hp off of them after they were tuned. I didnt need to take the engine out though. As for G/As i dont know because mine is stock. I love it though, great daily driver. Does anyone know of any good performance mods for a 2000 G/A SE 4cylinder? I cant even find a nice exhaust.

To get the cam out you have to take the motor out. There is no question about it. It's not an easy sawp either. Everything will have to come off. If you are going to do a cam, do heads, p/p intakes and tb and some kind of custom header because you will be wasting your money when you could be getting a lot more out of it.

The Stage 1 and 2 cams cost the same because they were produced the exact same way only with slightly different profiles. The extra cost from the stage 2 cams is that you need the stage 2 heads to have clearence for the extra valve lift.

wow that's cool, I think it would be fun to tear apart my engine but I don't have a cherry picker. as for the headers, I live in the middle of nowhere where there are no custom shops (central MN) and I don't know anyone who can custom fab. headers. I mean seriously, I wouldn't know where to go to get P/P or anything custom cuz MN sucks. I wouldn't mind buying headers and exhaust that I can just bolt/weld on that would be diff. but I don't know of any for sale. I don't know.

I have one. The reason it's semi cheap is because it doesn't use aluminum piping. It's more of a flexible tubing.

24 whp just from a cam swap? Uhh.. that's not bad. I wonder what one would get if one did the cam swap, stage 1 heads, bigger TB, CAI.. don't think Milzy's done the headers for 3100s yet.

been done...everything u mentioned both me and xonelith pretty much have. I have a different set of heads but that's it. He put down 203 I think to the wheels. I put down 187. That's before any real tuning though. He's got his tuned somewhat.

Cool.. but I see that you have a 3400. I was wondering about the 3100. How much did it cost you total, do you remember at all? I'm just curious. Thanks for the reply!

oops...didn't even notice you had the 3100. Still the same could be acheived from that motor. Price.....hmm. All in all I'd say around $5000. But that also includes an extremely high cost on the cam install due too some broken parts. If stuff wasn't broken I would say around $3000.
