There is no real point to this thread except to say I finally got my engine for the 3400 swap! It is sitting in the garage as I type. I do have a question, there is this brown stain on top of the UIM, what should i use to clean it off?

a dremel with a stel brush attatchment, and go over th entire thing. Or, just use degreaser, then spray it with high heat aluminum paint...looks way better ( look in my avatar).

what did someone poop on the engine before you got it?

Hey I'm really interested on how the swap went.
I'm getting ready to swap a 2004ga 3400 and would like to know what you ran into during the swap and other details.
I know this may not be the right forum for this, so if you would like, please pm me.

Well, the first time I went to start it, nothing happen, it didn't crank. The disappointment level was high...lol. Then I realized that I didn't have the + battery cable on the starter. Once I took care of that, it started on the first crank and it ran very smooth like. :) Everything seems to be working quite alright. I didn't run into any major problems with the swap except for the incredible heat outside (I wasn't in a garage). One thing that annoyed me to death was the belt. I had forgot to put it on and then I had to take the motor mount back off to get it on, what a pain... Oh and there is the heater core tubing... I used the pipe that came with the 3.4 instead of taping the hole. Getting the hose on right without kinking was a PITA. Oh and before I even did the swap, i tore down the motor and replaced the factory LIM gaskets with new fel pro ones to try and prevent the leak.. I need to go put the exhaust on and then take her for a ride.

i used a 2004 3.4 and it appears as though there is no plug for the oil sensor... did they move it?

well i drove it around the block with no exhaust hooked up so it was loud. when i would give it gas it would drown out the radio. i wish i could keep it this way cause im sick of working on it... oh and the heater core hose is leaking. turns out i forgot to put a clamp on. i figured this out when i pulled into the neighborhood gas station... it is almost completely road ready!!!

i got a ticket test driving the car. i'm an idiot. 58 in a 40. oh well.

i still can't get the exhaust on!!!! i have one last thing to try and then i'm going to a muffler shop. i would of tried it today but as i was fixing something else on the car i cut my finger really bad, like really bad. so tomorrow i will have it ready. i will then drive to san antonio (100miles) to visit some friends. i hope it doesn't break...lol.

yes i know to break it in. I have been taking it easy on it. I need this car to last for the rest of college so there will be no abuse...
