With other message forums adopting 'Premium Memberships' as a source of revenue, I thought it be best to announce that we, the Administration of the GAOC, have no such plans for our websites. It is our opinion that the message forums here should be, and will remain 100% free to all our members.

By no means is this an attack on any other site. They are free to administer their websites as they wish. But the GAOC has always been a little bit different. Our hosting fees, software fees, domain name fees, etc. are all covered by our banner ad program, and whatever is left is paid out of Kelly and I's pockets.

We're not asking for, nor do we need donations. We run this site for you, our valued members. We hope that you will continue to enjoy the forums here.

I really have nothing to add other than Shawn and I started this site as a fun place for all enthusiasts and due entirely to the great atmosphere created by the wonderful membership we have, the GAOC has grown beyond our original expectations ... to reiterate a little of what Shawn said, our current costs are completely covered by the sale of Banner Ads to our Supporters meaning we have no need for additional funds from our membership nor would we ever request any ... rest assured, should the day come where the GAOC once again needs to be supported by its Administrators, we will gladly cover the costs since we enjoy this place as much as everyone else does and we currently have no intension of letting this place die :)

Thats good to hear, I play Paintball, and many Paintball forums have decided to go with the payment route, they all sooner or later colasped. Some Forums do have a Donations thingy...and that sorta thing...

You guys have created a great community of not only automotive enthusiasts but a great big family. I have learned a lot in the time that I have been on here and have met some great people as well. I will always support the GAOC for as long as it is around. :thumbup2:

I can't tell you how much I've learned about cars in general. And I've saved quite a bit of $$ because of friendly, helpful people that have given me the encouragement to do it myself.

If you ever did have a "donation basket" I'd definetly contribute to this amazing community.

Thanks Kelly, Shawn, and everyone else that help in keeping this forum running day in and day out! :D You guys rock!!!

Yea.. This is one of THE BEST sites I've EVER encountered.. And I agree.. If there's ever a need/want for a donation.. I'm more than happy to contribute!

I am happy to hear that. Very happy, indeed.

I would, as others have stated, have no objection to donating a little bit if ever the time came, hwoever.

 You know us all too well, being the cheap bastards we are.

Haha, really though, this is the BEST site I have ever seen let alone joined.

Good to hear, guys! :)

Though, it's really not about some ppl being cheap, it's just the principle that some are against.

..there are 2 sides to every argument, n IMO, both make valid points. Oh well.

Kelly are you sure you don't want to take donations so you can get a new Honda motorcycle and load it up with all the fixens? lmao I mean I know how much you are dying for a Yellow Goldwing (would it be called a YellowWing then?) lol

Oh that reminds me, anyone that wants to donate I will happily accept. Paypal it to JohnNeedsCarbonWheelsForHisR1@gmail.net.com/org thanks. :D

Love you guys getting sponsors to foot the bill, great.

Along the same vein, there is the Buy RayZ a Corvette Fund that unlike GAOC does accept donations.
So if any forum members or sponsors have an extra grand or two burning a hole in their pocket…. :D

Shawn & Kelly... Thank you. :) It's greatly appreciated. It shows true devotion to the community that the admins are willing to occasionally take a loss. It's sad to see several good GA forums fall victim to messes stemming from funding and sponsorship.

Man, you guys are awesome. Another reason why I only frequent this GA site and not others. All they do on other sites is bitch, moan, and talk negatively about everything. Nothings good enough for anyone. It's a great atmosphere here and in the long run, thats why people stay. Great job and if the day comes that you guys do need a donation, I'm here for you.

same here...if a time came where a donation was needed, i'd be more than willing to help out to keep the site up and running. in the time i've been here, i've learned more about cars in the past year than i have ever in my life...and now i can fix most anything on my own and save...and plus all the great people and friends i've met....so yeah, if a donation would ever be needed, i'd be here for it.

great site guys and glad to see you are committed to it! :D

Great to hear. I love this site, though I don't get to check it out as often as I'd like. Darn work...

I'll add my voice to the "would gladly donate if needed" crowd.
