This is a place around here I never saw before tho...
The owner came out and I told him I was taking pictures, he was like, well, take as many as you'd like... he said it'll most likely go away when they loose the franchise later this year.
Notice the Rocket? it isn't the previous style (before the restyle in 1997 or so) it is the even older style.... way too cool, and in great shape... I wanna get more pictures before it is gone... there is also a Dodge dealer around here that still has their Plymouth sign up...
but, let this sign remind us... DAMN YOU GM!!!!

Loved the Olds I owned a 75 Cutlas supreme. Of course it was not stock or stock looking at all. M 50's jacked up, loud as heck. holly 650 double pumper, cam, ported, Man I loved that car.

They even had decent stock rims. Not like the crap we get on cars now.

Wow... what a nice car!
My favorite muscle car... and infact one of the only muscle cars I really want, is a 1970 Cutlass 442 convertible.... hell, any '70 Cutlass convertible would make me as happy as could be.
Until then I will represent Oldsmobile by driving a 1989 Eighty Eight Royale..... which, is a very cool car in itself :)

:agree: I miss oldsmobile. But I guess all the really good stuff (IMO) is from the 60s and 70s anyway.

Wow, Chain, that's honestly the most beautiful older car I've ever seen in my life. That interior is spectacular.
I will admit that I think Oldsmobile was dying in its last years, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the Alero or the other cars Olds offered.
The Alero was a sharp looking car, in my opinion, and, if given the right color or options, I'd totally have taken one. I've driven them, and, to me, they feel a lot more solid than my Grand Am GT, but I could be wrong.

Hey Rick, that guy might give you that Olds sign. He's just going to throw it away anyways. A buddy of mine got a Triumph sign that way.

Man I love the Cutlass....
the nose of them was just soo cool, but the W30 style hood made them look much more sharp:
http://www.autabuy.com/photos/16440_55177621.jpg
yeah, Oldsmobile in the 90's wasn't too well.... but, leave GM to blame.... although they did have a good hit... the Aurora... actually, that car got NO marketing or advertisement or anything from GM, and it was still an amazing car, the sad part is, the Cutlass ended up a rebadged Malibu which did nothing for the Cutlass name
If Oldsmobile was still around today and getting all new stuff like the rest of GM... man.... imagine a new Cutlass 442 to mimick the '70?
one of the best trademarks of Oldsmobile... the split waterfall grille, love that... atleast *my* Oldsmobile has that... another thing GM killed off in the 90's
at the time Oldsmobile was going away, I really didn't know much to care, I just knew it was a cool car brand but that was it... probably a good thing because it would have just made me more mad about it.

You think the 80's/90's Cutless were good looking?
Bleeeeeech. Look at the old ones and compare. You can't. Ew. Ones a good car, the others crap.

the Toronados... very ahead of it's time, the touch screen monitor in the car to tell you all about the car, radio and everything....

mmm, compare a 1970 Cutlass to a 1995 Cutlass.... yeah, lets do that and compare a 1970 with a 1995 Lincoln Continental, buick Skylark or ???
come on now.... to each their own opinions on the style, but trying to compare cars this said vintage together is.... ah well whatever....

Uh, quality can be compared from different years.
When you trash a name like that, its insulting to the cars heritage.
It happens in just about every car, though. Look at the Mustang. They looked like shit in the 80s. That's a disgrace.
I personally tihnk that Cutless is tacky.

^ the Touring sedans were so rare, and ahead of their time...
really, everytime I get in my Oldsmobile I think back to the nameplate and the heritage and everything...
one day when my Olds is long gone and I want one, i hope to find a 1989 Eighty Eight Touring Sedan in nice shape, very nice cars indeed...
the worst part with my Olds, is the frot end (frie wall forward) has some bad rust... like on the underbody the floor pans are really clean, then all of a sudden there is just that bad rust that you get... even rotted thru in a few places...
its funny, because I don't want that car to be restored... just always there, it is far from being perfect, but thats why I like it, I drive it as a car... 129k miles and I would trust it to go anywhere......
I would love a 2003 Aurora tho... talk about one hell of an amazing car.... love the interrior.

Check this out... make sure to see all the pics.
GM knew what they were doing, they had some truely amazing cars that are now forgotten by most.... it is a shame as the cars they already had out could have been some truely amazing paving grounds fo some amazing cars in the later 90's.... look at how cool this Buick looks with the top down:
