ok, it has been leaking coolant. I stopped driving it and have had it parked at our old house for a week. I went there today and the coolant was still leaking even with out starting it. It leaks out very steadily and the reservoir was almost dry. I added water the the engine and with out starting it it took 2 gallons. Well i start it up and the leak worsens as always. It appears to be coming from around the timing chain cover, a head gasket or LIM, which i had changed. I hope to tear into it next week, but i am puzzled by something else right now that makes me not want to touch the car.
The A/C stopped working, it blows air but it never gets cold. It was just recharged. Then i switch to heat with the engine fully heated, nothing, just outside air. I can tell something is changing when i turn the knob. I also noticed that the radiator fan doesn't kick on w/ the ac or when the engine heats up. Could something electrical be messed up or is there somesort of feature that disables these when the cooolant leaks??? I am stumpted as to how so many things went wrong so quickly.

when my LIM gasket went out, the heat or a/c didn't work either. I think that's just a result of the gasket leak. My leak was never THAT bad though....good luck.

ok, that is somewhat relieving. The ac worked perfect for a while when it first started leaking and continued to work after having the LIM changed. The LIM gasket was bad. it still leaks though so there must be something else. Did your rad fan quit also?

I don't have a clue what happened to my radiator fan, that sounds odd to me but I don't really know much about radiators. I know that those fans turn on and off all the time anyhow, so I wouldn't worry a heck of a lot if yours doesn't run, just make sure your engine doesn't overheat, if it does you need it checked pronto.

It used to come on with the ac. now it doesn't even come on when it gets hot. It can't be driven because it leaks coolant so rapidly that it will overheat.
