2.4L Twin Cam- Question- HELP

Is there such this as a RC9? Im looking to replace my 2.4L in my 99 Grand Am. Ive called around a some1 said it might be a RC9...What is that?? Some1 help plz?

Are you referring to the engine code? Cause it's "LD9" for the 2.4... not "RC9".

The RPO codes should be printed on a label on the underside of the spare tire cover in the trunk.

But... you either have the "LA1" 3400 V6, or the "LD9" 2.4L I4... those are the only 2 possible engines for 99. So I think you'd notice if it was the 3400. The engine itself will be labelled on the top... the LD9 will say "2.4L Twin Cam" on the IDI cover.
