I need some suggestions! My oil cap has blown off twice now. Once before an oil change, and once after. Has anyone ever had this happen?

This engine doesn't use a PCV valvue, right? Other than that I don't know what it could be except maybe that my rings are going out, though my car doesn't seem to be burning oil.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with this, but my car also has had the hesitaiton/sputtering problem at low RPM's when first starting cold, mentioned in another thread. The car has 123,000 miles, the check engine light is on, but not the oil pressure light.

You have to have pressure in the engine for the cap to blow off. Check the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake. It's behind the throttle body. It might be plugged with sludge.

Your oil cap, which is SCREWED on, is blowing off. Holy cow, somthing is really wrong in your engine.

DEEERRRRRFFFF!!!! that's what ^ he get's. I can't think of anything, so I would go with tenspeed, or abnormally high oil pressure, which is probably really stupid. There is pressure on the inside odviously, because it is making the thing blow off, so possibly some kind of vacuum thing going on, I've heard my uncle use those terms before...Well anyway, I can't quote it, but I once heard a bible verse and the message was if you guess your probably going to be wrong, so we're all guessing, so find out for sure on your own.

I have read that the oil pumps on these motors can cause exsesive oil pressure, dont know if it would be high enough to do that, is your oil cap deffective? When you spin it on does it make a clicking sound like your gas cap?
