I need some help fast..

So i took it out for a cruise and heres wat i noticed. 1. If i took off by flooring it the car barely even accelerated and when im goin around 25mph and absolutely floor it , it wont downshift or anything and i had the pedal down to the floor for a good 5-6 seconds and the tach read 2500rpms! wat gives im not sure wat the problem is and i am on the verge of selling it

What year is your car? I agree it could be a clogged Catalytic converter. Check Engine light on?

perhaps it's not downshifting, since, the tranny won't go into first? I dunno.

If you dont want a cat, cut it off and drive to the local muffler shop with a noisy car and have them put a pipe in for you. If it comes in catless, it can leave catless. But shops can't remove cats.

What we usually did when I lived in PA and needed a cat was.. just cut off the cat and pound out the insides with a broom handle then bolt it back on. That way it passes visual inspection but doesn't clog up or restrict air flow.
