Broken quick release on fuel filter . . . Help!!!

I have a 1999 GA GT1 and I accidentally broke off the black release tabs on the fuel filter. I broke them down to the metal fitting thinking the filter would come off at any time. That never happened.

What can I do now to get the old one off?!?!?!? Any suggestions???

cut the line and add a new fittin

Not sure if you mean that you broke the piece off that is usually part of the filter and is held in by the quick release tabs...is that what you mean?

I broke off the quick release tabs themselves.

Where can I get a new fitting and how do I attach it to the line??

Should I use a new filter if I change fittings??
