does the weather have an affect on how many miles per gallon you get? i was getting around 20-22 over winter and now for some reason i'm getting 26. didn't change anything at all with the car. but hell i sure ain't complaining. i'm happy with 26.

I think it does because back when it was cold and there was ice and snow i was getting around 15-16 mpg or less now im getting 21-25 Which is acceptable to me

yeah it does, not sure how but I think it has to do with the heater on and letting the car idle to warm up everyday for a few minutes doesnt help either

Big time difference. The car idles (or chokes) for longer and higher, the engine needs more energy to reach optimal temperatures, defroster using the comrpessor uses a lot of gas (ps. so does air conditioning), accessories (blower, defroster, rear defroster) all use energy... Also in winter you spin tires more, often drive less distances so the car doesn't warm up, air temp needs to be warmed, ...

All that to say... yes.

My experience has been the same too. In the winter my gas mileage goes down the toilet, but in the summer it's more than decent - even with a heavy right foot!
