The other day I ran out of gas for my lawn mower and wanted to borrow some gas from my wife's car. :D The question is does the 96 Pontic grandam SE V6 have a screen in the gas tank to keep people from siphon gas out of the tank ? I even tried it on my SUV, which is a 96 Jeep Cheerekee Unlimted edition V6. I couldnt siphon gas from that one either. I think it might be the thin tubing I bought for $1.10 that I use for my lawn mower.

The filler tube is about four foot long and there is a plastic bucket in the center of the tank that holds the gas around the fuel pump. When I replaced my tank on the '96 Achieva, I had trouble inserting a siphon tube with the filler tube removed.

For our English speaking friends, there is no screen. There is also no way you are going to snake a siphon tube into the tank from the gas filler.
