Gas peddle sticking

Hello all,

I have a 2003 Grand Am with a V6 and I have been having a problem with the gas peddle sticking. I have brought the car into the dealer 4 times now with no luck.

The dealer says since they cannot reproduce the problem it is hard to fix. This issue only happens once in a while. The last time I had to pay $200 to clean the throttle body and injectors (not under warranty).

I have to bring it in again for the 5th time for them to guess again.

They already checked the Cruise with no luck. I am going to sell this car soon as this is my wife/new born's car.

I have also had the recall done on the throttle replacement.

Go back to the dealer and give them a piece of your mind and tell them that ever since they worked on it for the recall it's been sticking. Tell them to fix it right or pay for you a rental until it is fixed. Get mean with them. You can also file a complaint with division headquarters. You should'nt have to put up with their crap.

I call GM today and made a complaint. They told me to bring the car to the dealer again. I told them that if my wife and baby where to get in an accident I would get my lawyer involved.

They seemed not to really care.

By sticking, do you mean sticking closed or it feels like its binding somewhere? When you go to accelarate it may feel like its catching on something?

A throttle that sticks closed can be fixed by loosening the 2 screws that hold the plate onto the throttle shaft and re-centering the plate. A binding throttle is usually a cable related problem, in which case the cable is replaced.

By sticking, I mean sticking when I let go of the gas the pedal stays put.

I call GM head office and told them about the issue. They documented it and actual called me back to see if I made another appointment. Surprised!!

My next appointment is on Thursday.
