hey, i ahve a 2001 gase and recently i got an oil change done, and now when i stop it smells liek buringin oil coming out of my heat vents, anyone else have this?? I realise theres a chance if spilling oil on the exhaust manifold, but if thats the case im gonna be pissed if he made a mess of my engine.

most likely thats what happend. if it doesnt go away soon you could have a leak and its dripping onto something hot.

if you were buring oil the exhaust would be different. as in the the more oil your burning the bluer it gets.

if your not burning any thing ,but still smell it, maybe the filter is loose.

I changed to oil in my truck once and didn't realize that the rubber seal from the old oil filter had stayed on and I screwed the new oil filter on over top of it. It leaked just enough to make a nasty smell all the time. Might want to check that out too.

my dad's buddy did that in his TransAm and the motor sezied up ......how much oil did you drip out klc317?

I'm not sure....it only took a short drive or two to realize something was wrong. I'm kinda particular about my vehicles, so I noticed the smell right away and figured out what was wrong. I was just kinda pissed that I had to buy 5 new quarts of Mobil 1 and a new filter to change the oil again. I would guess about a quart or two leaked out. sh*t happens!!
