I am new so please be patient with my dumb questions.
What is the main problem with the from brake on the 99 Grand Am's... is it the: Float pins on the caliper or the piston sticking?
one of my caliper has a TON of brake dust...the other seems to be normal....

The most common problem is the caliper slides. Rust builds up between the caliper and the slide bushing, this squeezes the slides and pretty much locks the caliper in place.

I had a similar problem, Drivers side front on my car wore the inside shoe more than the outer. Lube the slide and guide with a grease made to handle high temeratures. That caliper assembly is made to "Float". Garages that do brakes don't take the time to lubricate the important stuff before reassembling it.

I have problems with my brakes too. I have a 2003 GA GT and I put brakes on not even a year ago and I think I need brakes again. I don't drive like a freak either.
