The local dragstrip opens here soon and I'd like to take the GA for a run. So far I have a K&N, Borla cat-back, Iridium plugs and Taylor wires. (my CAI is far on backorder) I'm not expecting a miracle or anything, but just once or twice down the track just for fun. What do you all think I should expect? I'm thinking high 15s or so. BTW, I'm not into tearing my car up, but a run or two cant hurt. Its an '02 GT 4-dr. My friend has a pretty fast (11 second) Mustang that he runs there about every weekend, and he called tonight wanting me to come up. I dont have any "Type R" stickers or a big wing so I guess I'm losing about 50 horsepower!! LOL!! BTW, its not bracket racing or anything...just run what ya bring. Lots of fun!!

The track is like crack. One and done.
You WILL become addicted!!:)
Naw but seriously I was doing 15.4's with the same mods you mentioned at ATCO none the less:rolleyes:
But only got to run acouple times cause some dehk kept blowing hoses. And crap was all over the lanes.
Hope your at least close to this and Good luck bro:flash:

well, I tore enough stuff up on my ex '90 Mustang GT (too many mods, money pit) racing it every weekend. I'm kinda over the "addicted" thing. But thanks for the encouragement!! :) I just figured I'd run the GA a time or two for now, maybe again once I get my CAI, throttle body/ported upper intake, and MAF on. The GA and my old Ranger share daily driving duties and I have a 3 year investment (aka car payments) in the GA, so i wont tear her up. I just like to watch my friends tear their stuff up...lol! Nice car BTW Bmobyle..:)

maybe change your oil and use synthetic right before you race. maybe that will help

I've used synthetic in it since the first oil change :) Mobil 1 is good stuff.

Probably mid 15's... I went high 15's bone stock, down to crappy paper filter, minus plugs and plug wires because my stock ones were shot :D

Thanks for the replies...I'll let ya know how it went in a few weeks. I think I need to pick up some fart cans to clamp on the exhaust, that should gain about 75 horsepower...lol!!

Can you tell me where the "local dragstrip" is in Cincy? Just curious. Not into racing at all, but it would be cool to try it once even though mine's a lowly SE with no mod's. What are the top speeds you are looking at in a run?

i went to kil kare last weekend, first time at a track, it was fun, i saw two 2002 grand am GT's and they both had the same cold air intake, they were both running like 16 flat, although a lot of people said none of the cars there were really geting good times like they should, a bad day or something, my friend got a 15.8 with his 2002 ls sport cavy, im taking my corsica to kilkare thursday night, burn some of the saturns that are there

Yeah...its fun. I like to go just watch. Sometimes you'll see a black early '90s style twin turbo Mustang there that will run flat 8 seconds. Its awesome!! That will make ya feel bad if you get paired next to him, but its just all for fun. Thats why they have test and tune night.
