Well my cat just crapped out. The warranty covers it up to 80k miles, but since I have 82k miles with CAI and SLP exhaust, I think I will have a hard time convincing dealers to replace it under warranty.

I know I won't be getting headers for my car, but seeing how GM cat costs A LOT more than aftermarket ones, I think I will just go with an aftermarket cat.

I hear Magnaflow ones are the best. Is this true? Is there any aftarmarket that will just simply bolt-on? I went to Summit Racing website and they had cheap universal ones as well as more expensives ones that supposedly fits my car.

And I know the SLP pipe flange right after the cat is 2.25 even though it's 2.5 rest of the way out. So maybe I should get 2.5 in AND out and get it all welded up?

First of all, how can you tell your cat crapped out. I need to know this.

Very loud rattle noise coming from the cat.

Yep...a CAI and an exhaust system totally killed the cat...

as long as the header (or "exhaust manifold") is stock, then the cat was crap and not your fault... Noe if was engine related, its different

Why not just get a new downpipe with a cat on it....should bolt right up. I know S&S sells them with their headers, you might be able to get just the dp and cat from them. You might see a little performance gain then!

I got a 2.5" In and Out 3-way High Flow Cat for my Sunbird Exhaust when I did it. Dynomax Cat.

It was only $100CDN.

Kinda off topic: The Borla, SLP, and other Cat backs are 2.5" right?

There are only 2 cat-back's for 99+ V6 GA. Borla is 2.25 and SLP is 2.5.

I really really really really wish I had it. I want headers and a downpipe so bad I can't stand it! anywho, contact them http://www.ssheaders.com/ and see if they'll just sell you the flexpipe with highflow cat...or just bite the bullet and buy the whole system. Another member here just bought the whole thing for 600 ish....he said they're running a sale. Then I would be rediculously jealous.

Thanks for killing the environment.

Running straight pipes is illegal in most if not all states.

Mad Max was about nuclear war, and large battles for Gasoline. Not really about Polution.

Water world was about Polution though...you're right.

I did say a mix.

Madmax for the fighting for gas and WaterWorld for the global warming.

And c'mon that huge supercharger he had was amazing.
How the hell did he turn it on and off anyway? A electromagnetic clutch?

I was looking and i could not find a direct bolt in cat for our cars yet.
The S&S downpipe will not fit factory exhaust!

But if you buy one with the right inlet and outlet a muffler shop can weld it up for you.

I am in the work of installing S&S headers this weekend.

Ran on a Clutch maybe?

Funny...there's a Gas shortage and he's driving around in a Supercharged V8.
