looking for a few hard parts for my 96 2.4. i need a complete gasket set, a crank kit, a timing chain set, and an oil pump.

i nearly fell through the floor when i went to my buddy at Napa and got prices on this stuff. came to nearly $800! i can build a whole smallblock for that kind of dough!

anybody know where i can get reasonably priced parts to fix my GA? i've got someone very interested in my truck, and the sooner i fix the GA, the sooner he can take posession of the truck, the sooner i can take posession of his money. :D

well, the head gasket alone is about 200 something, cant find them any cheaper then that. is the pump new or a reman? try www.gmpartsdirect.com or www.paceperformace.com (idk if pace will have what you need though)

they're more expensive than the NAPA parts. anybody else got any cheap sources?

are you getting off brand stuff or GM parts? Is your buddy giving you his dicount (whatever that might be) i work at a ford dealer and i get any ford part at cost, and most anything else (as long as the other dealer that has the part is willing to sell it for whole sale)

i'm getting Napa parts at that price, GM parts would be WAY higher. the longblock from GM is $3200 dealer cost, i can only imagine what the GM parts would cost me.

Not always ture, for example, suspenion parts at work are CHEAPER then auto parts stores. so not everything is always cheaper at parts stores. its worth a shot to call.
