I loved the older GA's. The new one's are just too big IMO. My fav's are the 87 and 95 years. :)

I agree, I loved my '87 Z24. Factory fiberglass cowled hood and alloy wheels with a V6 under the hood = the hottness.

GM got a little concerned with it when it was getting close to smoking F-bodies. No offense to the F-body guys at all, but that much power in that light of a car was crazy.

Whats wrong with a crazy car? Every car should be given the possibility to expand its horizons, thats why there are aftermarket performance, suspension, appearence, etc.

And thats the problem with GM, and why Dodge has a stupid fast Neon. :shake:

There was one of those 3.0L engines on ebay a while back. Ended up selling for something in the range of $10K!

Dodge until recently didn't have anything that would have kept up with the F-Body market. (of course that ended in 02) but unless you stack the Viper against a WS6, 70 grand vs. 30 grand.

The 1990-1991 calias 442 W41 ran 14.7 or so in he 1/4 mile. The fbodies were about that fast for alot more money.

I know. But it all boils down to inter departmental politics.

F-bodys will have their own buyers who no matter what will buy one even if some Grand Am is faster, and vice versa.

I checked the wharehouse just for giggles. Unfortunately that car found it's way to the crusher, but the blueprints still exist.

Aw thats so sad. Give the blueprints to some automotive genius' (not gm techs!) and then let them have a field day and produce a few of them. Ill take 2 !!

Ah if only it were that simple

z-24 - that was the shit!
I, too, have a thing for 80's cars.
Among my fav's:
the GP GTP in my other post I want.
the '90 turbo GP - (I'm drooling over the pic of one in this post)
'88, '89 Chevy Beretta GTU, and the '91 - '96 GTZ
'88-'94 Z-24
'91 Sunbird GT - anyone remember this car? They made it only one year - hot body kit, twin dual exhaust - best V-6 growl I've ever heard - oh man to have one of those....
